Fit FAQs

What if I am between sizes?

If you are between sizes, we recommend sizing up or down based on what fit type you would prefer, and based on how you plan to wear the piece. Our knitted merino is stretchy and you could realistically go with either size. If you would prefer an Athletic fit, size down. If you prefer a Regular or Relaxed fit, size up.

Do I need to size up/down to layer?

Generally, no, you do not need to purchase a different size than normal. Our base layers are designed to fit right into your current layering system. They are also designed to work with other products in our line, too. You may wish to adjust your sizing if you plan to wear one of our garments in a way that it is not intended, if that's the case please feel free to contact our customer service team for help.

Does your clothing run true to size?

Yes, our clothing runs true to size and is sized similar to most other American brands. If a sizing discrepancy is discovered, you will see fit advice in that product's specific listing.

Learn About Layering

Why Merino Wool?

Moisture Wicking

Minus33 Merino Wool regulates the amount of moisture on your skin by absorbing any moisture or sweat on your body. Then, the absorbed moisture evaporates out of the fabric into the atmosphere.

Anti-Microbial

Merino Wool fibers naturally reject any bacteria in moisture or sweat as it is wicked away, so foot fungus and smelly odor will not be a problem while wearing our products.

Insulates When Wet

Wool will absorb up to 30% of its weight in moisture without feeling wet or clammy. If you do get wet, wool will insulate you better than cotton or polyester materials.

Fire Resistant

Merino Wool insulates against high temperatures and does not readily catch fire. If it does, it self-extinguishes. When Merino burns, it doesn’t melt and stick to the skin like synthetic fabrics do.

UV Protection

Don’t worry about sunburn on a sunny day summiting a peak. Lightweight layers have a UPF rating of 25. Midweight and Expedition have a UPF rating of 50+.

Renewable

Merino Wool has a low environmental footprint and naturally returns to the elements. Shear a merino sheep in the morning, and in the afternoon they’re happily nibbling their way towards renewing next season’s clip.

TOTAL EASY CARE

MACHINE WASH AND DRY

Total Easy Care (TEC) Merino apparel is designed for today's busy lifestyle. Total Easy Care Merino garments are all machine-washable, and are suitable for tumble drying.

Even after frequent laundering they retain an 'as new' appearance. They won't shrink, lose their shape, fade or color-bleed. They remain soft and comfortable for the life of the garment.

Shrinkage

Great fabric, wool fabric is awesome, truly keeps you cool in heat and warm in cold. Looks great also. One word of advice is to order one size larger because it will shrink and if you have a slight belly it will be highlighted if the shirt shrinks too much.
Currently I am working to shrink my belly so the shirt I purchased fits better.

Great service not so great durability

Bought 3 long sleeve base layers. I work in the medical field so wear these under my scrubs in the operating room.have bought multiple brands in the past and am always looking for the perfect blend of comfort and durability . I love the feel of these shirts and they were amazing for the first several months. But then 2 of the 3 developed multiple holes. I sent them back and was quickly without question sent 2 replacements. They are a wonderful shi to wear. But I've only had them now for about 2 months so time will tell if the durability is any different. Unfortunately the third shirt from my original 3 has now also developed a hole. I might save these for a base layer while hiking or skiing, but it appears they are not suited for a daily wear shirt.

Love it!

Very comfortable. As a hiker, it is warm but not clammy. Wool is just so much better than polyester.

Pretty awesome

I'm 6'1" and the medium tall fits me great. I like the soft merino wool, although I admit after wearing it for 3 days straight, it felt A LITTLE irritating. But it's going to be my new baselayer for a long time.

Nicholas,

TICONDEROGA

this is one of my Favorite long sleeve shirts. it excellent as an base layer. and work really well at wicking moisture. the fit and feel are superior to other brands i've used. i due notice that with the thinner layers you do need to be a bit more gentle with them. but that seems reasonable to me. but I really like the quality and breathability. I work on the go and out in the cold to warm places. this is excellent in that warm cold condition. from sweating to cold in a flash. it treat you right. highly recommend it.
