How to Measure

Chest: Measure the circumference around the fullest part of your chest, underneath the arms.

Waist: Measure the circumference around the natural waist, near the belly button.

Sleeve: Measure from your center back neck, to the elbow, to the wrist.

Shirt Length: This measurement refers to the approximate size of the shirt back length, from the neck to the bottom hem.

Inseam: Measure from the center of the crotch to the end of the ankle.

What if I am between sizes?

If you are between sizes, we recommend sizing up or down based on what fit type you would prefer, and based on how you plan to wear the piece. Our knitted merino is stretchy and you could realistically go with either size. If you would prefer an Athletic fit, size down. If you prefer a Regular or Relaxed fit, size up.

Do I need to size up/down to layer?

Generally, no, you do not need to purchase a different size than normal. Our base layers are designed to fit right into your current layering system. They are also designed to work with other products in our line, too. You may wish to adjust your sizing if you plan to wear one of our garments in a way that it is not intended, if that's the case please feel free to contact our customer service team for help.

Does your clothing run true to size?

Moisture Wicking

Minus33 Merino Wool regulates the amount of moisture on your skin by absorbing any moisture or sweat on your body. Then, the absorbed moisture evaporates out of the fabric into the atmosphere.

Anti-Microbial

Merino Wool fibers naturally reject any bacteria in moisture or sweat as it is wicked away, so foot fungus and smelly odor will not be a problem while wearing our products.

Insulates When Wet

Wool will absorb up to 30% of its weight in moisture without feeling wet or clammy. If you do get wet, wool will insulate you better than cotton or polyester materials.

Fire Resistant

Merino Wool insulates against high temperatures and does not readily catch fire. If it does, it self-extinguishes. When Merino burns, it doesn’t melt and stick to the skin like synthetic fabrics do.

Don’t worry about sunburn on a sunny day summiting a peak. Lightweight layers have a UPF rating of 25. Midweight and Expedition have a UPF rating of 50+.

Light and soft

I bought these Algonquian T-shirts to wear under a flight suit for backcountry flying as a fire-resistant upgrade to cotton (fine in the summer but not for mountains in the winter) and Nomex (just gets smelly too quickly).

When I phoned in the order, the woman I spoke to suggested that I pick it up in person since they were right down the road - I had no idea. So my dog and I met two employees in person and they were the kind of people you'd want at your dinner table. I appreciated the military discount, too.

The shirts have held up well for quite a few washings. You can wear them for a couple days without smelling yourself, and then weighting them down with rocks in a stream for a while will "wash" them enough for a couple more days. They dry about as fast as cotton. The seams down the sides give them a nice trim fit, and are flat and comfortable. The crew necks have maintained their shape. They are long enough to stay tucked in. The fabric is as soft as Pima cotton.

I'll order more then these wear out, and if/when they make heavier weights in a desert tan color I'll order those, too.

Great shirts at a reasonable price

I discovered merino wool tees a couple of years ago, and I really think the Minus 33 ones are the cream of the crop. They seem to hold up better than the competitors and they fit well and look good. A little secret for cyclists: merino wool is far superior for cycling. Much better than the plastic stuff marketed as cycling kit.

Bought this for daily wear under my OCPs. This is great kit! Wore it three days straight in the summer heat of Missouri and it didn’t stink. All I had to do was air it out overnight. I highly recommend for replacement of CIF/Clothing Sales issued T-shirts.
